About Us
My Roots
I have been deeply involved with the rescue scene since I was 18 years old. The longer I was volunteering with rescue, the more I gained experience handling difficult dogs. I was involved in bull breed based rescue which led the way to eventually becoming the trainer for Must Love Corsos Rescue, then the Vice President. I have since stepped down to pursue goals of breeding. Over my years with rescue, I have seen and experienced so much heartache. I have also come to realize that heavy selection produces consistent traits, and for an individual needing a dog for a specific purpose, an ethical breeder is the way to go.
My dogs and I live in Washington State, and have a few hundred acres of Forestry properties, aka timber farms. I grow Douglas fir, Cedar, Pine, and Alder. As a supplementary crop we also grow a variety of culinary mushrooms. My biggest passions are being outside and also working/training dogs, so being in Forestry and incorporating dogs in my forestry plan truly feels like I am living the dream!
I am also an AKC evaluator, AKC performance judge, Farm Dog Judge, decoy, UKC Weight Pull Judge, and run a local working dog club in my area.
As a breeder, I deeply believe in health testing and working every generation. I deeply believe in transparency of health results and work results. I am only selecting and breeding dogs that are not only proven in health, but also proven to work. My homes are an extension of my family, and are active working properties or can fulfill the needs of the working bred dog by engaging in dog sports, or having a very active lifestyle with their dog. The Boerboel does require training and consistency, and my dogs are bred to want to work, in some capacity or another, from weight pull, to large property management on any type of farm, to obedience, to odor related work. They also are deeply connected to their family, and my dogs and/or dogs I produce are not kennel dogs. They live in their homes with their family at night loose.
